Welcome to Miss Hobby Hopper

Let me introduce myself:

So, I'm going to be honest here, this is like my fourth blog. I could never choose a title or an aesthetic that I felt truly encapsulated what I wanted to say and I felt limited by trying to keep it to one topic. I have too many interests to just write about books, or social activism or Disney or comics or movies or fashion or make up, or, or, or ... you get the picture. It took me a while to figure out a name that suited my tendency to hop from hobby to hobby, never fully abandoning any one of them but going through periods where I hyper focused on one or another of my hobbies or interests. Thus, the title Miss Hobby Hopper!

So, that said, welcome to my blog! I'm going to actually try to keep this one going. As you may have also guessed by the intro paragraph, I love a lot of things. I love makeup, I love theatre, photography, art, music, comics, almost anything that falls under the umbrella of what one would think of as Nerd Culture. I also LOVE Disney, and I don't just mean I like some Disney movies, I mean I have a whole collection of books, documentaries, vintage collectibles, and an intense level of knowledge, because it's fascinating. I also love history, as that's what I studied in college, so I'm a sucker for most of the humanitarian studies.

I'm very passionate about feminism, civil rights, BLM, women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and the general progression toward people of all walks of life and from all over the world having equal rights. I also have a strong inclination towards sustainability and preservation of the planet in general but especially natural areas and the oceans. Trust me, knowledge of history and political science is a blessing and curse right now, having been screaming from the rooftops that the political climate we are currently in was only so far down the road once Trump got elected.

Basically I like to learn about everything and see how it connects to the other interests I have. Example: I love history and I love movies and literature, and so I love seeing the correlation between what was published and popular when and what was going on in the world to allow for such popularity.

So, welcome to my Hobby Hopping content pile. I hope you will stick around and subscribe! If you're looking for where else to follow me, check out @MissHobbyHopper on Instagram and @LokiMouse on Twitter.
